Additional Questions

12. During voting bloc on a six operative clause draft resolution, a delegate moves for a Division of the Question of clauses one through four. Immediately after this, a delegate moves for a Roll Call Vote. Following this, a delegate moves for a Vote by Acclamation. Finally, a fourth delegate rises under a Point of Information and asks, “So are we dividing out all the clauses, or just one through four? I’m sorry, I just don’t know how Division works.” How would you respond verbally? Try and be as true to the exact words you would use as possible.

13. Your Committee President has asked you to get through three speeches before taking another motion to suspend the meeting. After the first speech, a delegate raises their placard; you ignore it and take another speech. After the second speech, the same delegate raises their placard; you call on the third speaker, and the delegate calls out a Point of Order, because you didn’t call on them when they had their placard raised. How would you respond verbally? Try and be as true to the exact words you would use as possible.

14. When and how would you use the gavel? List as many examples as you feel are appropriate for use of the gavel.
